It has a metal base and frame, not plastic, and is very secure and sturdy. It has up to an 135 degree recline, so you could technically lay down on it and take a nap if you wanted to.

This chair is is quite nice. It feels very solid compared to the cheaper chairs I've tried, and I don't feel like it's straining if I lean backwards.

The seat shells are embedded in a frame construction. Makes a stable impression. The backrest can be adjusted perfectly using the lever. No problem finding a good sitting position.
